Taking a mess of information from subject matter experts and distilling it into consumable content is my bread and butter. I love working with diverse and engaged teams and working hand-in-hand with developers.

I have experience as a lone technical writer, growing a developer documentation team from the ground up. I work cross-functionally with engineering, product, marketing, and design departments to ensure that users are supported by accurate, helpful content from a variety of sources.

I’ve spent plenty of my own hours wandering through specifications and getting stuck troubleshooting code. I feel the pain of a frustrated developer. A deep empathy for the user helps me to produce content that has the user’s needs in mind. I speak up for the developer’s best interests in all situations.

I bring my background in information design into my everyday work as a technical writer. Design thinking helps me to empathize with the users and identify areas that may trip them up. I structure information thoughtfully and supplement with multimedia content as necessary.

My experience with hardware documentation taught me to have very close attention to detail. Hardware projects have taught me to deal with compliance and regulatory standards and firm deadlines.
